RODNEY KING BACK IN THE NEWS !
The 42-year-old King best known for sustaining the videotaped police beating that sparked the 1992 Los Angeles riots was struck with a spray of shotgun pellets near the Rialto/San Bernardino city line, police said.
He suffered wounds to his upper arm, back and face.
King reported the shooting at 11:39 p.m. Wednesday after arriving home in Rialto, but said that he was shot while riding his bike about a mile away near the corner of Fifth Street and Meridian Avenue in San Bernardino.
In an interview with San Bernardino police detectives at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, King said a man and woman tried to steal his bike. When he rode off, one of them fired a shotgun loaded with birdshot pellets, said San Bernardino police Lt. Scott Paterson.
